Direct-to-garment prints are soft because the ink lives in the fabric, not on top of it. A little care keeps them that way.

Sweatshirts and hoodies

Turn inside out. Machine wash cold with like colors on a normal cycle. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not bleach. Do not iron directly on the print; if you must iron, turn the garment inside out and use low heat. Do not dry clean.

Heavyweight garment-dyed tee

Turn inside out. Machine wash cold with like colors. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Garment-dyed cotton is pre-shrunk but can shrink slightly on high heat, so keep the dryer low. Expect the color to soften a little over time; that is the point of garment dye.

Premium sweatshirt (100% cotton face)

Same as above, and skip fabric softener, which coats the fleece and dulls the softness over time.

First wash

Wash separately or with similar colors the first time. Darker garment-dyed colors like Pepper and Espresso can release a little excess dye on the first wash.

Stains and pet hair

Treat stains with a gentle detergent before washing; avoid bleach-based stain removers near the print. For pet hair, a ten-minute tumble in the dryer on no heat before washing lifts most of it.
